Porcelain
PORCELAIN
Porcelain is surface printed so the edges do not carry the pattern through. It comes in depths of 12mm & 20mm. 12mm ultra sleek and minimalist but you will need additional support to help avoid chipping and cracking. 20mm offers more durability still maintaining a contemporary aesthetic.
Porcelain does have limitations in its fabrication for edge profiles.
Porcelain - AMB Macchia Vechhia
PORCELAIN
Porcelain is engineered from natural materials like clay and sand and fired at very high temperatures to create a durable dense material. They are surface printed available in various textures and colours typically finished with a decorative surface which mimics natural stone and can be dramatic in appearance.
Porcelain is extremely hard and the satin/honed finish is especially resistant to scratches. As porcelain is fired at high temperatures it can withstand heat and being non-porous is scratch resistant. Porcelain is also UV resistant. Despite being very hard it can be brittle and prone to chipping if subject to heavy impact and extra care may be needed in high traffic kitchen environments.
